Lion Learners Visit to the Reception Year
Children in Reception welcomed some unusual visitors to their classroom... we met a lovely rabbit, guinea pigs, a pair of cockatiels, bearded dragon, corn snake, a tickly tarantula... and more! Some of these who had been taken in as rescue by the Lion Learners.
The Tigers Cubs are currently enjoying their topic of being a ‘Nature Detective’ and are learning all about growing plants, minibeasts and seasonal changes across all curriculum subjects.
Some of the children’s comments about the visitors were; ‘We loved Autumn the snake as we have not seen a snake before and she slithered around', ‘The tarantula was a grandma, she was 15years old'; 'The birds that visited flew around the classroom'; 'The guinea pigs and rabbits are so cute and fluffy' and finally, 'the bearded Dragon did a poo!'
