Fundraising Fun at Hollywell
Helping to raise money for charities in school is a good way for children to see first hand that they have the ability to make a positive change in the world.
Charities that we have helped this academic year so far are:
Lincs Notts Air Ambulance |
An Easter Cafe was held in support of Mrs Photiou's London Marathon challenge to raise funds for the Lincs Notts Air Ambulance.
Children from Y1 donated cakes, and the Hollywell Community Action Group and Healthy Eating Cafe from Y5 & Y6 joined them to run a cafe for their parents. They sold cakes, drinks and also Easter gifts that Y6 had made themselves.
It was a great success - the children raised a combined total of £500!
This year for Comic Relief we had a crazy hair and non-uniform day and raised a total of £215! Some of the hairstyles were amazing and even defied gravity.
Children in Need & Macmillan Cancer Support |
CHILDREN IN NEED
Children came to school dressed with the theme of 'I am What I am', dressing in clothing of their choice to represented themselves.
COFFEE, CAKE & CREAM TEA MORNING
Children welcomed parents/carers into school and enjoyed a cake or two together. As always, our Hollywell families supported us well by donating lots of yummy cakes.
COMMUNITY ACTION GROUP
At the coffee morning some of our Y6 children sold their range of innovative handcrafted jewellery, not surprisingly they soon sold out! The jewellery, made from recycled watch parts, took time and patience to create, but all the effort was worthwhile and the children thoroughly enjoyed making them.
Monies raised from the coffee morning and jewellery sale were split between the two charities.
A total of £701 was raised on the day! Fantastic!
Remembrance Day |
Hollywell raised an amazing £349.32 for the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.
Thank you to Jack for laying a wreath on behalf of Hollywell at the Kimberley memorial service.
Antibullying Week |
On Monday 14th November we showed our support for anti-bullying by wearing some weird and wonderful odd socks!
Thank you for your generosity!
