The Ancient Egyptians

Amazing Ancient Egyptian Day!

Our project this term is Ancient Civilisations. On Monday 16th October, the Ancient Egyptians came to Hollywell!

We had a great time handling spices, studying artefacts, creating a princess and performing a burial ceremony.

We used our senses to describe a range of spices that were used in Ancient Egypt. Some smelt awful!

We studied Canopic Jars, Shabti figures and amulets. These were buried with their owners for use in the afterlife.

They were very delicate.

Shaduf Building

The Ancient Egyptians used a shaduf to transport water from the River Nile to water their crops.

We designed and made our own working models. It was trickier than we thought but persevered and were rightly proud of them!
